Meet Our Healthcare Team

One big problem with the diet industry is knowing who and what to trust. There seem to be experts popping up everywhere who do not have a degree in nutrition and are often trying to sell a product or promote something they read online. Companies claiming to offer healthy food may be just following fads or using marketing techniques without basing their claims on actual science or without expert input. Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating is different because we have real experts, base our programs and advice on the science of eating right, and help our customers navigate through the difficulties of living a healthy lifestyle.

A great benefit of Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating is that you can receive free individualized nutrition support and counseling to help take your success to the next level from highly trained health professionals. Healthy eating requires a healthy mindset, learning the basics of healthy eating, understanding your health conditions, and knowing how to navigate it all in a way that is best for YOU!

Our team of experts includes three Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and a Registered Nurse. The healthcare team is available to help our customers with their different health and nutrition concerns, questions, and needs. Each professional has a varied background allowing us to offer personalized recommendations and counseling for different issues. We understand that nutrition needs differ depending on body composition, health status, goals, and medical history.

What our medical team can do for you:

  • Calculate personalized nutrition and weight goals
  • Choose the meal plan that is best for your medical history and diet restrictions

  • And MORE!

Let us take some time to meet each of our caring health professionals.

Rene Ficek RD, CDCES

Rene is the owner and president of Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating. She worked in the clinical setting as a dietitian and diabetes educator for several years before becoming a consultant for Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating. Rene grew up in the food industry, which made her a perfect fit. She gradually took on more responsibilities becoming the food safety manager and creating new meals and menus. When Seattle wanted to sell the company in 2018, Rene jumped at the opportunity to purchase and grow the business. Rene commented, “Our wide variety of education, experiences, and expertise creates unique opportunities for our craft and most importantly these skills translate to helping people live a healthier and more fulfilling life.”

Alyssa Salz MS, RD, LDN

Alyssa grew up with a mother who always struggled with her weight and watched the physical and emotional toll it took on her. She was also a dancer and college cheerleader and saw the unhealthy relationships with food and body image that was so common in athletics. She remembers thinking there had to be a better way and someone needed to help people have more confidence and less guilt and pressure when it came to their bodies and diet. “Ever since my teens I felt a calling to help people develop a better relationship with their bodies and to help with compassion and positivity,” says Alyssa. She has been a dietitian for 13 years in a variety of settings: education, eating disorders, private practice, clinical, and food service. “I love helping people let go of their unhealthy relationships with food and their bodies and developing new, healthier understandings of what it means to take care and nourish themselves. Seeing others embrace their lives and live it to the fullest is the most rewarding part of the job.”

Miranda Reinhardt MS, RD, LDN

Miranda has been a dedicated Registered Dietitian for over 20 years teaching nutrition practices to prevent disease and medical nutrition therapy to those with medical issues. She loves being a dietitian because she enjoys helping people achieve their optimum wellness and seeing their lives change forever. She says, “Seattle Sutton’s is exactly what I have been preaching for over 20 years as a Registered Dietitian! One hundred percent fresh whole food meals without any manufactured additives, preservatives, or supplements…just REAL delicious food! I’m grateful there is an option like Seattle Sutton’s that emphasizes the importance of eating “real” food…and BONUS it tastes amazing!”

Emily Slonek BSN, RN

Emily has been a Registered Nurse since 2009. She has a Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing and one day hopes to go on to get a Master’s Degree. Emily interacts daily with customers over the phone, chat, and email. Emily says, “My experience as a nurse makes me understand what patients are going through when they are dealing with health issues. I try to be as understanding as possible when interacting with customers.” Emily loves how Seattle Sutton’s focuses on positive health outcomes and how everyone is so kind and friendly.
