YOUR good health is OUR true mission

High Cholesterol *

Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating can help lower cholesterol and improve your heart health.

What is Cholesterol?

Cholesterol is a waxy substance that forms part of every cell in your body. Cholesterol is also in your bloodstream, and high cholesterol raises your risk for heart disease.

Approximately one third of American adults have high cholesterol, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And those with high total cholesterol have twice the risk of developing heart disease as compared to people with optimal levels, making it vital to eat healthy and keep total cholesterol under control.

How It Works

High levels of total or LDL (or bad) cholesterol in your bloodstream can lead to build-ups of plaque in your blood vessels. Eventually, the blood flow to your heart, brain, or other vital parts of your body can be restricted. Clogged arteries can lead to various forms of heart disease, such as coronary heart failure, stroke, peripheral arterial disease and coronary artery disease.

Seattle Sutton’s and Weight Loss

High Cholesterol BlockquoteLosing excess weight and following a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet can help lower high blood cholesterol levels. SSHE aims to help you do both. Effective cholesterol-lowering diets can naturally support the benefits of cholesterol-lowering medications, such as statins.

With the full SSHE program, you receive 21 varied and nutritious meals per week without needing a personal chef. The program includes 7 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners per week. Our SSHE store locations or National Home Delivery can deliver meals to your home or office two times every week. You can eat delicious food, lose weight and lower your cholesterol without needing to plan meals, go grocery shopping or even cook!

Stay Healthy, Lose the Weight

Weight loss is a major factor in lowering high total and unhealthy LDL cholesterol, and our meals help you lose weight because they are calorie-controlled. This helps you take in fewer calories than you burn, and that is the premise behind losing weight. Hunger is among the most common reasons to cheat on diets, and SSHE helps prevent it. Our menus are high nutrient dense, filling foods such as lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dietary fiber.  Losing a few excess pounds can make a significant impact on your cholesterol levels.

Too much dietary cholesterol, total saturated fat, and trans fats can lift your total and unhealthy LDL cholesterol levels and raise your risk for heart disease. Our program meets American Heart Association recommendations for cholesterol-lowering diets. It has fewer than 200 milligrams of cholesterol, with less than 25 percent of calories from total fat and under 7 percent of calories from saturated fat.

Furthermore, SSHE contains no added trans fat or partially hydrogenated oils. The dietary fiber, from fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains, helps lower LDL cholesterol levels. Between the weight loss and the healthy foods, SSHE menus are ideal choices for cholesterol-lowering diets.

Losing weight should be a top priority if you have high cholesterol and are overweight. Choosing SSHE can make your goals easier to attain. The program is convenient for your busy lifestyle; just order online or over the phone and receive your meals at home or work. Enjoy a 5-week menu rotation with more than 100 different menu items in both our traditional and vegetarian plans, and be confident that you are putting fresh, wholesome foods into your body.
