3 Tips for a Healthier 2017

Hi - I’m Rene Ficek, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. It’s 2017, which means, if you're like everyone else, you've either made a resolution to be healthier or lose weight in this next year. I want to offer a few quick tips that can have a big impact on your health in 2017.

Tip 1: Satisfy Sweet Cravings with Fruit

My first tip is to reduce sugar by satisfying sweet cravings with fruit. Next time you're craving cookies, try an apple or an orange instead. You might be surprised at how satisfying it is and it will help keep your blood sugar steady which means you'll have more energy.

Tip 2: Add Variety to Your Diet

My next tip is to add variety to your diet. So, instead of taking foods away from your diet, try adding some back in. Next time you're at the grocery store, try picking up a fruit or vegetable that you have never tried or haven't had in awhile. You'll add some more vitamins and minerals to your diet to improve your overall health.

Tip 3: Keep a Journal

And my last tip is to keep a journal. Those who are successful with weight loss keep a journal. Write down the food you eat, the time, and the amount, it will help keep you accountable and have a big impact in 2017. For more healthy eating tips, check out SeattleSutton.com.
