Third Way Done

Being a third way done with the Seattle Sutton's 2013 Slim Down Contest in Peoria, I thought it would be fun to let you hear from our contestants and how they are doing. Here are some of their thoughts and comments:

Maria said, "Right NOW I could just cry! I am at the lightest weight I have been in I don't know how long. I am so blessed to have been chosen for this contest! I have gained so much (knowledge) more than I ever expected!! I have already won."

Cindi said, "Kinda sad that the 5 weeks of "new meals" are over, but then again I am looking forward to week 1 again because I loved them all!"

Erik said, "Week 1 did have some awesome meals. I cannot believe we are 1/3 the way through already."

Cindi said, "I just want to say that winning this contest is changing my life...it has been (almost) 5 weeks and I have not cheated on this plan one bit. Not one bite, one lick or one smell even of anything other than SSHE meals. I have not ever gone this long on any diet plan without having a cheat meal or day or at least taking one bite of something not allowed. Exercise has become a daily habit, not something that I have to force myself to do. Food cravings for stuff that I used to eat have diminished almost to the point that I don't even think about it anymore. The fatigue that I had initially felt in the first few weeks have been replaced with a renewed energy. Last week I was discouraged because I didn't lose. I have a new attitude, thanks to Paula, who has assured me I am doing great and I should not expect to lose 8lbs. a week and that the week after a big loss like that it is not unusual to stay the same. I guess what I am trying to say is I am so grateful for SSHE, you are all wonderful! God answered my prayers when I was picked for this challenge!! There is no doubt that I will reach my goal. It may not be by the end of this contest but I will not quit until I get there."

Maria said, "Well said Cindi, those are my sentiments exactly. I have not strayed from the plan and feel great!"

Renee said, "Well put Cindi! My thoughts exactly and I am just so thankful too for the Seattle Sutton family to guide us through this. Sarah, you all are so amazing! You have changed all our lives by picking us!"

Renee said, "Funny thing, I was up real early this morning and decided to go Kroger because I needed to get laundry soap. HA, haven't been to grocery store in 4 weeks, just didn't need to go. Anyway, boy did I have fun in the produce department. Tomorrow my son, his wife (vegetarian) and my two grandkids are coming over. I saw where they have jicama, butternut squash, pea pods, and all kinds of stuff I now am aware of because of Seattle Sutton! BOY HAVE I CHANGED!!!!! LOL"

Debbie said, "Down three more for me...yippee!!"

Roberta said when asked about what she was doing for super bowl Sunday, "I saved fruit from breakfast and muffin from lunch so I would have extra stuff to munch on. Then there was yummy rice pudding in my dinner so not a bad night."

I love how they are connecting and really sharing the experience. It just goes to show, how supportive even fellow contestants are of one another. I think they are forming life-long memories and friendships in the process. This makes me so happy!

I also want to congratulate the group, in 5 mere weeks they have lost a total of 243 pounds! Yay! Keep it up, you are doing great. Only 10 more weeks to go.
