It’s that time of year again and we’re in the midst of our Seattle Sutton’s 2016 Slim Down Contest. I can’t believe it, but we’re already one month into the contest and the contestants are doing great! They are down a total of 63.4 pounds in all.
For a tally of who’s who and where they stack up, here are the latest results in order of percentage of weight lost to date:

If you aren’t familiar with the “Slim Down Contest,” it’s a 10-week weight loss challenge where we provide our freshly prepared, portion-controlled meals to the chosen participants. This year, we chose the Rockford area to focus on and help those we selected to make a change once and for all. The contestants are competing for prizes and improving their health by making positive lifestyle changes while losing weight. Essentially, it’s a win-win for all!
We have a successful track record with six previous contests under our belt, so to speak, by helping to transform people’s eating habits and overall health. SSHE held its first successful weight loss contest for the Chicago area in 2010, when 10 contestants lost a total of 372 pounds in 14 weeks. Since then, the contests have helped people lose a total of 2,421 pounds to date.
The contest runs until March 14th and the contestant who loses the most weight based on percentage of body weight will win a three-night trip for two to Riu Montego Bay, Jamaica, provided by Apple Vacations and Riu Hotels and Resorts, valued at $2,000. The second-place prize will be a $500 cash prize from SSHE, and the third-place prize will be a Macy’s gift card valued at $200, courtesy of SSHE.
She made healthy eating her mission in life long before anyone else did, in hopes of helping her own obese father. A registered nurse by training and entrepreneur at heart, she lives, eats and breathes everything about healthy eating and helping to improve people’s eating habits and overall health. She enjoys never having to bother with grocery shopping, cooking and counting calories. Her favorite SSHE meal, although it’s hard to pick just one, is the Potato Gnocchi with Basil Pesto Sauce.
