I’m so excited to share this terrific news with you, dear readers! In just one short week, our fantastic 10 Slim Down contestants have lost nearly 90 pounds (88.5 pounds to be exact) by eating our healthy, delicious and portion-controlled meals! Way to go, Slim Down Contestants. You are sticking to our meal plan and it really shows.
In case you missed it, last week we kicked off our Seattle Sutton’s 2014 Slim Down Contest for Northwest Indiana. We selected 10 amazing people to compete for prizes and improve their health via our freshly prepared, calorie-controlled meals we provide them for the duration of the contest.
The contest is for 15 weeks, from January 13 to April 28, and each week our contestants weigh in at their Seattle Sutton distributor location when they pick up their first portion of meals for the week.
The contestant who loses the most weight based on percentage of body weight will be heading to Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Riviera Maya, Mexico with a guest courtesy of Apple Vacations, valued at $2,500. Second place prize will win $1,000 cash from Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating. Third place prize will win couples spa treatments package at the Serendipity Province Spa, valued at $540.
But, really, each and every one has already won…they are learning about the importance of portion-controlled meals and through that they will regain their health while losing weight.
At the beginning and end of the contest, contestants also have blood lab work completed, to measure cholesterol, triglycerides and fasting blood sugar, as well have their blood pressure taken. Lab services are free as part of the contest, provided by IN THE FIELD Health Services. These tests will prove healthy eating improves one’s overall health.

A registered nurse by training and entrepreneur at heart, she lives, eats and breathes everything about healthy eating and helping to improve people’s eating habits and overall health. She enjoys never having to bother with grocery shopping, cooking and counting calories. Her favorite SSHE meal, although it’s hard to pick just one, is the Potato Gnocchi with Basil Pesto Sauce.
