Please join me at the third annual Dr. H.K. Sutton Memorial Bridge Walk on Saturday, October 3rd at the Illinois River Bridge in Marseilles, Ill. The walk is designed for anyone and everyone (walk or ride), to come and participate to help benefit the Marseilles Nursing Service.
One thing I want to convey is that it is not a race and everyone is welcome regardless of his or her mobility. Come in a wheelchair and be pushed, enjoy the fall weather and help support a wonderful service.
Marseilles Nursing Service is a community service for anyone in the city of Marseilles who needs nursing care. It is the last of its kind in the state, since it is funded privately and does not receive state funding.
Proceeds from the memorial walk will benefit the nursing service; the service was something my late husband supported during his practice as a family practitioner and following his retirement.
The fee to walk is $5, and pets are welcome and free to participate. Kick off is at 10 AM, with registration at 227 South Main Street, the Nursing Service offices, beginning at 9 AM.
Please come rain or shine and join me to help celebrate my late husband. We are hoping to double participants this year, with a goal of surpassing and doubling last year's total of 125 walkers.
I will begin the walk and lead the group of walkers. Come and join in on the fun! I hope to see you on Saturday morning.
