Doing Well

DuPage County Slim Down contest is in its 4th week, and I'm happy to report that as of week #3, they have lost a total of 138.5 pounds to date!

The 10 determined people we selected are sticking to our freshly prepared meal plan and it shows. I always say, if you do not lose weight on our 1,200-calorie meal plan then you are cheating! A good rule of thumb is 2 pounds per week.

Our star of the week is Steve who lost 10 pounds. Way to go, Steve! Keep it up. In the 3 weeks you have lost a total of 28 pounds. It just goes to show if you stick to our plan, then results will follow!

Here's an update on how things are changing already in the lives of the contestants as they go through this life-changing journey we call the Seattle Sutton's Slim Down:

Sandy has spearheaded a clothing drive with the contestants to donate their already too large clothes to a worthy charity. What a wonderful, giving gesture Sandy! We'll update here as the donation date approaches with more details.

Debbie started her 4th week of her jogging program this week...from couch to 5K in 8 weeks. That's terrific Debbie, you're half way to your goal of completing 5K! Thanks for sharing.

Kathy said that she was really happy with her weigh in this week. In fact, she even went out this past weekend and bought a dress for her son's wedding -- with the understanding it can be returned if it doesn't look good when she gets smaller.  She said it is so much fun to look forward to as a healthier person.

Way to go everyone, keep it up! If you didn't lose as much as you would have liked to this week, please do not get discouraged...you can do it! It's a new week and a new opportunity to do your best.
