I'm pleased to announce that we've just kicked off our first Diabetic Weight Loss Challenge!
We've selected 7 wonderful people -- all type II diabetics -- from Illinois and Indiana who were referred to us by their physicians, and they will participate in a 12-week contest to lose weight. Being type II diabetics, it is especially important for them to do so in order to improve their overall health.
Our goal for doing this challenge is that we'll help them better understand portion control, how a healthy diet can help with their diabetes and hopefully in the process also allow for them to discontinue their medications (of course, in conjunction with their medical professional).
Many times when a Type II diabetic loses weight, they will reduce or eliminate their medications. They will also lose the label of being diabetic in the process. We hope we can help them do this. That is the reason we're doing this contest.
The contestants will be weighed weekly and we'll chart their progress through this challenge. I will update you here on their progress from time-to-time. Of course, I'll be sure to let you know who wins the challenge after the contest concludes on October 31st! The winner will be awarded $1,000 cash prize...they are also provided with our meals for the entire 12 weeks. That's 252 meals in all we're providing each of them...1,764 in all.
Now, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to our 7 Diabetic Weight Loss Challenge contestants:
They are all very excited to be part of this challenge. They are eager to make the necessary lifestyle changes that will positively impact their lives. We wish them all the very best! Stay tuned for more information as the contest progresses.
