Aging in place seems to be increasing in popularity as our population ages and more of us are in our so-called golden years. People are living longer too than generations ago. It only reasons as the baby boomer generation ages, more and more people will opt to age in place and continue to live an active lifestyle while continuing to live independently.
We are regularly contacted by people who want to remain in their homes (and their family members) as long as they can rather than move into assisted living facilities or nursing homes. As an 83-year old living independently, I understand!
We often hear that one of the biggest obstacles when people age is preparing meals. The planning, shopping and cooking becomes a chore or unbearable due to difficulties with driving or trying to make healthy meals for only 1 or 2 people. It is even more challenging when you add in health and medical conditions.
Families contact us too, because they are trying to help older relatives stay in their homes and keep their regular routines in tact with taking some of the burden off them at the same time.
That is where we come in and fill the void. We plan, shop and prepare meals, as well as deliver the meals right to their doors.
We adhere to health and medical guidelines, so you can rest assure they are eating what they should be eating for any medical condition. However, each medical condition and persons’ medical history is unique, therefore I always recommend checking out our nutritional information and if necessary consulting with a medical professional. My daughter, Paula Heaton, is also our in-house medical support person and she has worked for years as a registered nurse with seniors with various medical conditions. She can be reached at: 817-689-0265 or firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have questions about how our meal plan works or how it can help.
Our meals are also much, much less expensive than assisted living facilities in comparison and takes the burden of cooking off the senior. We offer flexible meal plans for those who seek to socialize and go out to eat too.
And, when the time comes, or should I say, if the time comes, there’s a time and place for assisted living facilities and nursing homes. For those who are still independent and in good health, our freshly prepared meals are ideal for them. I know I love when my meals are delivered twice per week and I don’t have to worry about what to make for dinner (or breakfast, or lunch for that matter).
We have also delivered meals to many seniors in assisted living communities where residents are responsible for their own meals. So that too is an option available for those who choose it.
We enjoy hearing from families and seniors seeking to keep their independent lifestyle while maintaining a healthy diet. Give us a call at 1-800-442-DIET (3438) or email us at email@example.com with questions. We’re here to help!

She made healthy eating her mission in life long before anyone else did, in hopes of helping her own obese father. A registered nurse by training and entrepreneur at heart, she lives, eats and breathes everything about healthy eating and helping to improve people’s eating habits and overall health. She enjoys never having to bother with grocery shopping, cooking and counting calories. Her favorite SSHE meal, although it’s hard to pick just one, is the Potato Gnocchi with Basil Pesto Sauce.
