15 Weeks and 467 Pounds Lost

It’s been 15 weeks since we kicked off our Seattle Sutton’s 2014 Slim Down Contest and the moment we’ve all been waiting for…we have officially chosen our winner!

The group lost a total of 467 pounds in almost four months time! Way to go everyone. Your hard work and effort paid off. I hope you all feel as great as you look.

I’d like to congratulate Sue Kiefer of Crown Point, Ind. for taking first-place in our contest. She lost 58.4 pounds and 32.09 percent of her body weight. She and a guest of her choice are heading to Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Maya Riviera, Mexico courtesy of Apple Vacations and Riu Resorts.

Our second-place winner also deserves a round of applause; it goes to Tim Kreke also from Crown Point, Ind., for losing 80.2 pounds and 30.38 percent of his body weight. Thanks to his hard work, he is also $1,000 richer courtesy of us.

And, last but not least, we cannot overlook our favorite dentist, Michael Perez from Munster, Ind., he lost a total of 72.2 pounds and 28.20 percent of his body weight. That’s terrific, Michael, way to go! Michael and a guest will soon be pampered with a couples’ serendipity spa package at The Retreat at Serendipity Province Spa.

The other contestants also had wonderful results:

  • Linda Adams, 46, of Crown Point, Ind., lost a total of 22.8 pounds and 11.13 percent of her body weight.
  • Michael Adams, 52, of Crown Point, Ind., lost a total of 43.4 pounds and 17.57 percent of his body weight.
  • Maureen Anleitner, 60, of Chesterton, Ind., lost a total of 21.8 pounds and 9.69 percent of her body weight.
  • Rebekah Cowan, 50, of Valparaiso, Ind., lost a total of 33.4 pounds and 18.45 percent of her body weight.
  • Jessica Mignard, 31, of Valparaiso, Ind., lost a total of 46.4 pounds and 23.6 percent of her body weight.
  • Lon Saloman, 45, of Valparaiso, Ind., lost a total of 54.6 pounds and 20.3 percent of his body weight.
  • Annette Walker, 57, of Gary, Ind., lost a total of 33.4 pounds and 14.21 percent of her body weight.

Not only did everyone lose weight but they also improved their overall health through establishing better eating habits. That is my goal and has been for nearly 30 years…still is today!

Next week I look forward to sharing with you the contestant’s lab work from our contest partner, IN THE FIELD Health Services, showing how following our freshly prepared, calorie-controlled diet you can improve much more than a lower number on the scale. We will share with you the improved blood pressure, total cholesterol, fasting blood sugar and triglycerides.

Again, congratulations to our 10 contestants who not only improved their health by losing weight, but also established new, healthier habits. I hope you all enjoyed this life-changing journey.
