  • Founded in 1985 by registered nurse, Seattle Sutton at the age of 53.
  • Family owned and operated business, today spanning three generations is located in Ottawa, Ill.
  • Sutton started with a $1,000 investment, 3 employees and grew it to a multi-million dollar business without any loans, investments or grants.
  • Retail locations around Chicagoland near manufacturing plant and delivery is available nationwide.
  • USDA inspected kitchen facilities manufacture meals in Illinois and ship nationwide. The Illinois facility spans 40,000 square feet and was built in 2000. 
  • The company began as Diet Carry Out and changed its name in 1992 to Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating (SSHE).
  • Today the company has 45 employees.
  • Company mission: To improve people’s eating habits and overall health.
  • Healthy eating is personal. Sutton’s own father died from complications of obesity.
  • Seattle and her three daughters are all registered nurses.
  • SSHE meals are freshly prepared meals including fresh fruit and salads are available nationwide.
